Artistik License is a boutique, founder-led creative legal and research practice based in India, working across creative law, research and strategic advisory. Its work sits at the intersections of intellectual property, creative labour, rights, culture and power, with a particular focus on artists and creative ecosystems across the Global Majority.
Founded in 2013 by Manojna Yeluri, Artistik License began as an independent platform exploring copyright, artist rights and the legal realities of creative practice. Over the years, it has evolved into a specialist practice bringing together legal expertise, research, critical inquiry and strategic thinking.
Today, Artistik License works across legal advisory, research, writing and collaborative projects with artists, creative practitioners, cultural organisations, studios and other stakeholders within creative and cultural ecosystems.
Manojna Yeluri is an intellectual property, artist and cultural rights lawyer and researcher. She is the founder and principal legal consultant of Artistik License, a creative legal and research practice based in India working across creative law, research and strategic advisory, with a focus on intellectual property, creative labour, rights, culture and power within creative ecosystems.
With over a decade of experience, her work spans multiple creative industries and interdisciplinary contexts, working with artists, creative practitioners, organisations and institutions. She holds a B.A. LL.B. from NALSAR University of Law in Hyderabad, India, and an LL.M. in Entertainment, Media, and Intellectual Property Rights Law from UCLA School of Law in Los Angeles, USA.
She has co-authored reports on the creative ecosystem, hosted a limited-series podcast on artistic freedom in Asia, and co-created Contracts for Creators, a pro bono digital tool designed to simplify access to creative contracts.
